Saturday, February 24th 9am – 4:00pm
$130 per student
Caetani Studio Gallery
Have you always wanted to hold a copy of your own book in your hand? With the rise of Print on Demand publishing, this is not only possible, but inexpensive. Learn in this workshop how to self-publish not only ebooks, but your own print books, and register them for worldwide distribution.
Who is this for?
Not only writers, but writers groups wishing to publish anthologies, professionals wanting to add to their expert ‘image’ with a book showing off their expertise, school teachers wishing to publish students work, photographers etc.
In this workshop we’ll cover why authors are trading traditional publishing for Print On Demand and other avenues. You’ll learn about all the components needed to create a print book including the purchasing of ISBNs, how to find an editor, create a book cover, create your print on demand files via Pressbooks and start to demystify the independent author process. Whether you need physical copies for speaking gigs, school visits or for the excitement of seeing your work in print, this workshop will take you through the steps you need to cheaply produce print copies of your work.
Emily Craven is an author, speaker, innovator and the publisher/CEO of the Story City GPS app, which allows participants to take part in a story set in the location they are standing. Read more about her and her projects here!
