Giving Tuesday: Help Us Cultivate a Creative Community

This Giving Tuesday, help us bring the Caetani grounds to life—creatively, sustainably, and together.

The Caetani Centre is transforming its historic outdoor space into a vibrant community green space through our Cultivating Creative Community initiative. This project rejuvenates what already exists on the property while exploring new, artful, and climate-adaptive ways to enhance the gardens and grounds.

Thanks to early support from the City of Vernon—who generously donated plants and funding for a rainwater capture system through its sustainability grant—and the Community Foundation North Okanagan, whose Smart & Caring Grant has made this dream possible, the groundwork is already underway.

We are also grateful to be working with permaculturalist Keli Westgate of Lekker Land Design, who has led two community charrettes and a series of planting, leaf and mulch laying work parties,  to shape a design that is sustainable, creative, water-wise, and rooted in community input.

Now we invite YOU to help this project grow. Your Giving Tuesday contribution supports the next steps in creating a welcoming, inspiring outdoor space for workshops, gatherings, learning, and artistic expression.

With each monetary donation, you will help us with our top priorities:

• $20 toward Perennial Pollinator and inspiring plants for artists

• $50 toward Sustainable Water practices such as rain capturing, smart irrigation, and water retention measures including everything from mulching to grading.

• $100 toward Native Tree varieties that will replace invasive species and provide shade, protection, and habitat for ecologically sensitive species

  $250 toward Ongoing Permaculture Consultation and labour, including educational sessions, project management, and volunteer events with our consultant Keli Westgate at Lekker Land Design
