Join us for the next First Friday Art Trail on August 1, noon to 4 pm, when we highlight studio artist Cher Mark and host a live intuitive painting demonstration with local artist Alessandra Woodward.
Cher Mark will be working out of the historic Sveva Dance studio and will show off her prowess with a sewing machine, needle and thread, making dolls and other textile collectibles through her Freaky Faeries line.
Cher is a dollmaker and multi-media textile artist who has inhabited one of the Caetani artist's studios for several years, making and selling her weird and wonderful creations in the Caetani Gift Shop and in local markets.
Alessandra Woodward, aka Renaissance Creative, is a published author, a Creatrix, an Intuitive Coach, and a part of the Caetani Cultural Centre Society staff.
Her favourite mediums include encaustic, watercolour, acrylic, and oil. She facilitates art workshops in various modalities, many of them incorporating intuitive painting, art therapy, mythical archetypes, creative experimentation, and Vis Medicatrix Naturae (the healing power of nature) as pathways to self alignment.
Her novels can be found everywhere you buy books, and her art can be found in galleries and private collections throughout the Pacific Northwest. Visit www.alessandrawoodward.ca for more info.
The First Friday Art Trail is a free event that takes place on the first Friday of every month. Explore your neighbourhood, meet the artists and learn about their work and enjoy time out with your friends.
