The next First Friday Art Trail takes place Oct. 3 and the Caetani Centre is excited to feature our new studio artists Jude Clarke and John Lent.
Both John and Jude will in the Ninfa Studio located in the Caetani Centre Courtyard from 2-6 p.m. Their joint project , “The Spring Lifts the Land and the Soul” combines Clarke's abstract paintings and Lent's prose.
Jude Clarke is a painter and she writes prose to accompany her abstract works. She studied Fine Arts in Nelson, Toronto and Regina.
Releasing the horizon line, and letting the lake, land and sky move freely is the core of Jude’s vision as well as all the interactions between light and shadow. Her abstract paintings express inner consciousness and the Okanagan landscape.
John Lent is a writer of poetry and fiction as well as a singer-songwriter. Since he was a graduate student in the 1960s, John has been fascinated by the interactions between consciousness and landscape in different forms of art. Having an opportunity to collaborate in this mystery with Jude Clarke in a studio setting is something he has wanted to do since Jude and John went to Prague together in 2008
The First Friday Art Trail gives the public to explore their neighbourhoods, meet the artists, and learn about their work in their creative environments.
By opening our studios, we invite our neighbours to participate in a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and connection.
