Mark your calendars for Friday, December 5, when we’ll be joining the First Friday Art Trail, where artists across the North Okanagan open their studios to the public.
At the Caetani Centre, we’ll be hosting our very own First Friday Celebration of Literary Talent, a joyful showcase of local writers and readers.
One of the highlights of the day will be the debut of the area’s newest creative venture: the Rose Moon Books bookmobile, a pop-up bookstore operated by local author Natalie Appleton (I Want to Die in My Boots).
The Vernon indie bookshop on wheels will delight readers of all ages and genres. This bookmobile proudly highlights beautifully written and illustrated (mostly) Canadian books, including bestsellers, classics, Indigenous, French and more.
Throughout the afternoon (12–4 PM), visitors can explore the Rose Moon Books bookmobile, visit the Caetani Centre’s museum, gift shop, and open studios, meet our studio artists, and see the incredible work being created right here on site.
Then, as the sun sets, we’ll gather in the gallery for a drop-in evening of readings (6–8 PM) to hear Caetani connected writers reading a short excerpt of their poetry, memoir, fiction, non-fiction. Enjoy some camaraderie and treats, and of course, check out the new Rose Moon Books bookmobile.
Admission to the readings is by donation and refreshments will be available by donation.
