Take a self-guided tour of our 130-year-old heritage home museum featuring new displays of Caetani family collections. Learn about the family’s royal Italian roots, their new life in Vernon, and Sveva’s long isolation followed by many years as a revered teacher, artist, and mentor. 

New to the tour is recently found film footage of Sveva speaking about her Recapitulation painting series in detail!

Recapitulation is an extensive collection of 47 artworks, comprised of 60 separate large, luminous watercolours. The series is a symbolic interpretation of Sveva’s journey through life, accompanied by her father as her guide, and inspired by Dante’s long poem Inferno from the Divine Comedy, examining the human condition.

Recapitulation is currently on its way to Rome, Italy for an exhibition at the MAXXI Museum - see HERE to learn more about it.

The films will be screened throughout the open house in the Caetani Library for people to come watch at their leisure.

The Centre is open from 10am - 4pm, come anytime during those hours!
